Our established client is looking for dynamic and result oriented candidate to fill the following position:
Vice President, Exploration & Production
Jakarta Pusat (Jakarta Raya, Indonesia) - Senen Raya
Responsibilities:
A. Position Overview
The Vice President of Exploration and Production reports to the President and CEO and is a member of the company’s Group EXCO. The incumbent isresponsible for the provision of strategic direction and overall leadership for the delivery of all E&P activities, including geological and geophysical activities, the assessment of existing and potential new assets and activities related to the production of these assets.On exploration, the incumbent will deal with sites and a wider spread of data and also use relevant technologies to evaluate a whole basin. In production, he will concentrate on sites that are already operational, making assessments on the basis of well core and well fluid samples.
B. Key FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
As Vice President of Exploration and Production (E&P), you will maintain a robust exploration pipeline and inventory by leading the identification and acquisition of new exploration plays. You will direct the conduct of initial reconnaissance in order to understand the exploration area for new opportunities, initiate economic evaluations and be the custodian of all G&G maps, surveys and related plans. This role will have you working on play and prospect generation, evaluation of new ventures at exploration level, log evaluation and basin modelling. As this is a key leadership position, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing the exploration and production team and maintain budgetary responsibility.
Functions
EXPLORATION
- Develop exploration plans and budgets and manage projects, including sites management, data management and maintenance to enable early stage exploration activities.
- Conduct exploration, feasibility studies and field development planning of the discovered fields, as well as in optimizing recovery from the producing field.
- Champion all drilling activities and ensure rigs are continuously serviced;
- Interpret reserve statements and recommendations to ensure compliance with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) requirements.
- Ensure exploration and production goals are achieved and opportunities identified through liaison with clients, contractors, government agencies and other partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to model how conventional and unconventional gas reservoirs perform and behave over the production lifecycle.
PRODUCTION
- Optimize production planning, well testing, pressure surveying, wireline interventions and other maintenance and production enhancement activities.
- Perform well test analysis, nodal analysis, material balance analysis and production monitoring techniques.
- Schedule, plan, oversee and interpret well tests, static pressure surveys and FBU tests.
- Provide detailed well production planning schedules to the operations team.
- Incorporate anticipated sales nominations, data gathering requirements, well potentials and the field depletion policy.
- Monitor well production performance on a frequent basis to identify opportunities for production enhancement, including considering using artificial lift.
- Recommend, schedule, plan and oversee remedial well activities as and when required.
- Construct and maintain a detailed nodal model of the production network.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Ensure compliance with government regulations including HSE, Security and Social Development.
- Ensure lost time accidents does not exceed 20% by implementing job and safety training continuously to employees so that they have the abilities to identify, isolate and eliminate work hazards.
- Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
- Review and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower and facilities requirements forecasts.
- Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organisation maximises its short, medium and long-term profitability and shareholder returns.
- Present monthly reports on production performance to the Group CEO and Country Head for IEV Indonesia.
- Act as a member of the Group EXCO.
- Assume any other responsibility as directed by the Group CEO.
Management of the overall E & P function including:
- Responsible for the successful management of the E & P department in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.
- Establish objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned activities. Issue specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and review objectives of E & P management.
- Communicate to employees department plans and progress.
People management
- Build and lead an effective and cohesive team
- Select and maintain qualified personnels in all positions reporting directly and recommends compensation for them
- Identify training needs, initiates development of subordinates, recommends effective personnel actions.
- In consultation with HR, implement effective succession planning, people management, development, recruitment, and retention strategies for the department.
- Manage the performance of all staff of the department through the formal KPI system
- Self development and continuing personal development.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Geophysics, Engineering (Oil & Gas) or related discipline
- At least 15 years of oil and gas or energy based industry (upstream), of which 5 years must be in a Senior Managerial position.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the exploration sector.
- Strong technical capability in oil production and proven track record in an E&P environment with extensive exposure to data and site management, reserves and reservoirs management.
- Excellent people skills with an ability to partner with a dynamic team.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and strong leadership.
- Matured and able to work within a fast-paced environment.
